Nicky Boehme always knew that painting was to be her vocation. A native Californian, Nicky has been painting and drawing ever since she was a child. She studied technical art training in California at the Oakland Art Institute and later became art director for several national ad agencies. She received numerous awards for her posters, art and prints during this time. She also received awards as an illustrator and graphic designer. Her experience in painting spanning several years has given her the knowledge of dramatic lighting and the ability to transport the viewer to a special place in time through her art, prints and posters. Through the minds eye, her paintings will lead the viewer to a romantic adventure – be it a cooling mountain stream or to a small remote harbor.
She’s a member of the Oil Painter of America and the American Society of Marine Artists, and therefore participated in the eighth National Exhibition in Newport News, Virginia which was sponsored by the Mariner's Museum. Her art, posters and prints are in many corporate and private collections across the country. Nicky’s paintings of peaceful, quaint, scenes flooded with vibrant color and dramatic light draw the viewer into a memorable and romantic adventure of a special time and place. Nicky has had many feature articles on herself and on her art in trade publications and national magazines. Her art has been published in several books internationally.
