Debbi Wetzel Wall Art

Debbi Wetzel loves to paint and she loves to share her world with her viewers. Working from her studio which overlooks the constantly changing landscapes of the Green Mountains of Vermont, she paints what she knows. She grew up in a small village, and the village life with crows in the cornfield, church steeples and pumpkins on front porch are what inspire her work. Debbi was introduced to acrylics in the 1970s, and she has found her own way around the medium. She painted on broken pieces of antique wooden boxes, Vermont roofing shingle slate, and furniture and eventually evolved into canvas originals. She uses sharp lines and bright, bold colors to define county architecture, the fall foliage, and to tell the story of the countryside that she likes to share in her paintings.

She’s very keen to detail and small details such as the fireflies in the nighttime sky, pattern on the hanging quilt, or the treat or trick parade in the village are fun for her to investigate and include in her paintings. Debbi and her husband Adam Wetzel live and work together in collaboration dabbed Woodzels by Wetzels. They work in rural Saxtons River, Vermont and have been doing art and craft shows for more than 40 years. These shows have been very successful. Woodzels by Wetzels is a unique collaboration of husband and wife to produce enough Art & Craft pieces for their customers. Debbi now teaches her grandchildren the adventure of travel and the fun of painting.
