Artist Grace Popp is based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She believes that the community where she lives in Virginia embrace different and cultures art. She also believes that living in an environment like Virginia has had a big effect on her artwork. Grace knew from an early age that she would end up doing something in the arts field. She graduated with a BFA in Communication Arts and a minor in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. Right after graduation her art career started with an internship with World Art Group. Her work ranges from painting to handmade greeting cards. She uses a range of mediums to create her art including oil paintings, watercolors, graphite and more.
Grace’s work has been featured in Quail Bell Zine, along with other publications based on Richmond. She has exhibited in galleries such as Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery, Gallery 5, and the Anderson Gallery. Her greeting card line, Hearts in Brine, has individual cards available for purchase through Grace Popp Art's Store. Grace loves being surrounded by artwork that friends have produced so she can also learn from them. She is always on the lookout for new styles and techniques. She usually has color palettes that work well together hanging around. Her style is pretty controlled, but watercolor really forces her to allow things to happen. She also does a lot of graphic work. She adds textures to something that would otherwise look very flat or paints something traditionally and then pieces it together in a final piece using Photoshop.
