Amanda Jones Wall Art

Amanda Jones was born in Essex, England. In 1968, she moved to Alberta and she now lives in Richmond, British Columbia. Amanda called the West Coast her home for close to 30 years. She’s very much inspired by the craggy beauty of the Pacific Rim. She developed an early interest in art and could be seen working on art during her free times. She experimented with oils, but was never serious about her artwork until 1991 when she discovered the watercolor medium. Amanda studied with several esteemed Canadian artists after which she attained AFCA status with the Federation of Canadian Artists. She was awarded senior signature status in the Federation in 2010. Painting primarily in watercolors and acrylics, Amanda has an impressionistic yet realistic style and tries to evoke a sense of tranquility and peace in her paintings. Since 1997, the artist has consistently been one of the top selling artists with the Birthplace of British Columbia Gallery.

With a love of the West Coast this landscape painter comments that her art has given her an awareness of the world around her. She finds herself noticing the beautiful contrasts, patterns and rhythms in her surroundings, and she hopes to convey this in her paintings. She’s both energized and humbled by the landscape. The artist is represented by 4 galleries in the Vancouver area: Birthplace of B.C. Gallery, Rendezvous Art Gallery, The Old Customs House Gallery and Jenkins Showler Gallery. She has exhibited at Mikelson Art Festival, Federation Gallery, Gateway Gallery, Richmond, Jack Gibson Gallery, and Sinclair Centre, Vancouver, to mention just a few.
