Govinder Nazran Wall Art

Govinder Nazran’s art training began in the North of England in Bradford, where he studied Graphic Design for 3 years, from 1980 to 1983. Nazran then went on to further his studies; he decided to go to Lincoln Art College for a Higher Diploma in Graphic Design, and specialized in illustration. Once he completed all his formal training, he decided to move to London and approached all of the major city publishers with his portfolio. It was in London that he worked on illustrations for books of children and after six months, he decided to move to Cambridge where he continued working as a freelance illustrator. He stayed there for a while and then moved back to his to West Yorkshire in his home town of Saltaire. Here, he took up the position as a designer for a greetings card company.

At the same company, he was also involved in product design and development. Nazran was involved in directing photo shoots which later made him to become a photographic art director. He traveled all over the world, for the year that followed, on fashion shoots. He gave up his photographic job in 1993 and spent the next 5 years working freelance on card designs and printing with leading publishers. In 1999, he decided to enter the fine art market and went and approached Green Washington with his portfolio. The publishers have since published more than 40 of his designs and are currently developing some of his selected art into sculpture.
