Ovanes Berberian Wall Art

Ovanes Berberian (Born in 1951) was born in Alaverdy, Armenia, Russia. His father was a noted and important artist in Russia. He was as a theatrical set designer and college art teacher, and was also a member of the American Artists’ Society. It was in this setup, studying at his father’s art school, that Berberian achieved the bigger portion of his education in art. His father died in 1977, and in the summer of that year, the family, comprising 3 brothers and their mother, migrated to the U.S. and settled in California. Berberian was awarded a scholarship in 1981 to further his study in painting techniques with the late teacher and master painter, Bongart Sergei, in Rexburg, Idaho. His deep understanding of color relationships, values, and hues, blends with his own special technique of painting to make each one of his artworks a magnum opus.

His art is in many Private Collections including Jack Nicklaus, Development Corporation of America, Steve Chase, Palm Springs Designer, Ghazi Aita, Saudi Arabian entrepreneur, Ira Fulton, Eagelson’s Clothing Stores, and The Forsythe Group. In Idaho near Bongart, the artist built his studio and home from which he conducts workshops in the summer. His style of painting is easily recognizable by his brush work and confident blend of color as depicted in his dramatic still lifes and landscapes. He is considered as one of the shining stars in American art, he is a nationally renowned teacher of art and plein air artist who has been at the forefront of the American art scene for many years.
