Fran Di Giacomo Wall Art

Fran Di Giacomo is a fine artist, author and speaker. She has no formal art training but has studied with numerous artists. Her work often contains tapestry or fabric and is done in a classical realistic style. She uses dramatic light to accent the eclectic collection of objects in the arrangement and likes to portray a sense of mystery about her paintings. Fran works mostly on commission. She is able to capture natural and classic beauty in her large scale still-life paintings. Fran carefully arranges objects for her paintings which are richly colored; sometimes she takes days to find the right composition and balance. It was in 1970 that she found two passions - her art and her husband.

She pursued her passion for art by studying with living masters, including David Leffel, Paul Leveille, and Howard Terpning with whom she had a unique opportunity at Scottsdale Artist School. Fran found herself most excited by the concepts and methods of the Dutch masters while she was striving to establish her career in oil painting. She focused on seeking out living masters to study with. Perfecting shadow, mystery and the drama of light has been her constant theme. Her paintings are in demand for their dramatic lighting and lush colors and are represented by many galleries. Fran is represented by Gallerie Amsterdam in Carmel, and Southwest Gallery in Dallas. Her portrait subjects include Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki and Emmitt Smith, who are sports figures, and Warren Burger, the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
