Josh Byer resides in Vancouver, Canada. He’s an artist whose collaborators and clients include 20th Armada Records, Century Fox, Best Buy, Armin van Buuren, The Canadian University Press, Brightlight Pictures, Gutter, CBC, Interscope, Bill Gates, Laidback Luke, Keystone Entertainment, MTV, McClelland & Stewart, New Line Cinema, NBC, The Ottawa Citizen, Nissan, Simon Fraser University, R3HAB, Sony Entertainment, Southam News, Staples, Spinnin' Records, Trevor Guthrie, SyFy, Victory Square Publications, USC, and The Yale Record. His art is featured in hundreds of publications and has been exhibited in Vancouver, Toronto, and Los Angeles alongside Dali, Matisse, Picasso, and the Group of Seven. He has been nominated for the Juno and Journey Prize award, and has received the Canada Council for the Arts award.

He has also received awards from the Northwestern Film Festival, the Montreal World Film Festival, Kodak Canada and the LEOs. In 2015, the artist was awarded his 1st Gold record from Sony Canada. Byer decided to become a full time painter after a conversation he had with his mother on her deathbed. She said "Don't wait.” Today his art is licensed by international manufacturers such as The Metaverse Corporation, Trademark Global, and Chamton Pty. His art also appears on merchandise available through several retailers -- including, Amazon, and Walmart. Since 2015 more than 8 million viewers have visited his online galleries. Byer holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Simon Fraser University. He majored in Film. He also holds an ORA Certificate in Visual Art from Canterbury Regional Arts School.
