John Churchman Wall Art

John Churchman lives with his daughter Gabrielle and wife Jennifer on a small farm in Vermont. He’s an artist and photographer who enjoys taking pictures of his environment in all weather and seasons. What inspires him to create imagery is the conditions of light within the image. He says that each season has its own serendipitous mystery and beauty; and he strives to bring that into his finished pieces. He believes that first working as a painter and then as a photographer has given him a unique eye for capturing light and color. He has always been inspired more by painters than photographers, especially Rothko, Franz Marc and Turner. His ability to create a story in his landscapes and set a scene and still life’s is at times attention-grabbing. A joy to work with his history with Frog Hollow goes back over 10 years and includes him in the roles of board president, artisan, and educator.

Churchman’s ability to be successful in all of these positions has been a true benefit for Frog Hollow. Churchman’s work is a constant attraction in this company. His playful nature and vibrant use of color in arresting the personalities of his subject matter, be they noble stallions or playful chickens, is a true talent. His work is available online and is also carried by the international stock agencies Corbis and Getty. His work can also be seen through various clients such as Prentice-Hall, IBM, Citigroup, Yahoo, Mobil, Toyota, Verizon, General Motors, State of Vermont, Subaru, Goodrich, NECI, Hallmark Cards, Warner Bros., and Jazz Musician Pat Metheny.
