Robert Blehert Wall Art

Robert Blehert was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He discovered pencils and began creating beautiful works of art on paper when he was only 3 years old. He first commissioned his artwork at the age of fifteen. This was actually a pastel portrait of his friend's dog. After college, he moved to Seattle and he studied extensively with a nationally known wildlife artist, Libby Berry, and learned to implement the Old Masters’ painting techniques. Blehert has continued to pursue portrait art with considerable success because he always had a great talent and love for this form of art as witnessed by his ever growing list of clients. Most recently, he decided that commissioned work was not the end of everything, and has gone ahead to express his feelings about life on canvas in a way he feels will communicate to a large audience.

As an artist and as a person, he enjoys communicating straight from his heart with a propinquity he feels is best expressed with impressionism. It is his feeling that impressionism is the best way of approaching the perfect balance between message and technique, rather than stressing a specific style. To him, it is a way of stressing feeling while not leaving behind the practical mastery that is used in the expression of that feeling. In the long run, the artist cares more about what effects his paintings have on those who view his art and he doesn't pay much attention to labels. If a viewer can share just a fraction of his excitement in creating a work, he will consider himself successful.
