Laura Nydia Lozano Wall Art

Nydia Laura (Born 1947) was born in Alginet, Spain. Laura’s first works were landscapes. Her art is influenced by her childhood life. She even painted portraits of family and friends. She remembers the bright colors of the orange and lemon trees and of the rice fields. She grew up in an area in which life translates itself in a strong luminous atmosphere. Everything Laura saw in her youth manifested itself in her affection for painting. Her father noticed her intense love and affection for painting, so he approached a master painter in Alginet for his opinion of Laura’s talent. The painter was so much impressed with her drawings and invited her to study with him.

Laura later attended the San Carlos Fine Arts School in Valencia. This is where she met her future husband who was also an artist. The continuing philosophy of the Valencia School and the inspiration she got from the work of the 19th century masters, Zorn, Sargent, and Sorolla made her to begin portraying the female figure in her paintings. In 1969, Laura had her first exhibition. It was in a group show with Vicente Silvestre. She left Valencia for Barcelona after finishing her studies. She then began her career by exhibiting with her husband in Spain. Her paintings are inspired by her travels in Spain, and they depict the life and landscape of Spain. Laura’s canvases reflect the sensitivity of her heart and the strength of her talent. Today, she exhibits her work throughout the United States and Europe.
